NEW YORK FASHION WEEK // THE RUN DOWN

Once again the designers at NYFW have wowed us all, with out-of-this-world shows and designs to die for. From Ralph Lauren's soft safari look, to Jeremy Scott's bold hippy prints, there's a trend for everyone next season. Here at Adorning Ava we're giving you the run down of SS15's top trends to watch out for and the designers you should be keeping an eye on.

WONDERFUL WHITES

NYFW saw an array of designers carrying the white trend through from AW14 into SS15, with each of them taking a different approach. Erin Fetherston printed vintage themed florals over brilliant whites to create a clean, feminine style - perfect for any garden party. Michael Kors showed us a slightly different interpretation, using floral cut outs over matching white mesh, and adding daisy-esque appliques over floaty midi skirts.

White isn't just a big trend in clothing though, with oversized blooming rings and creamy pearls expected to make an appearance in next season's jewellery. For the perfect pearly piece with a floral hint, our Ayla White Pearl & Jewel Encrusted Necklace definitely deserves a peek at.

SAFARI CHIC

Models took to the catwalk in shades of mustard and khaki, paired with splashes of magenta, cobalt and violet. Ralph Lauren took a  more direct approach to this trend, showing lightweight jackets and trousers covered in utility pockets, alongside sultry silk shirts in hot pink, powerful purple and summer yellow; whereas Osklen models owned the runway with a more modern twist on safari chique. His designs focused more heavily on shades of khaki, sand and white, with clean lines and PVC inserts providing a unique take on the trend. Colour could be seen on his palm and jungle print coordinates and high-waisted skirts and tailored trousers.

Transparency can also be found in SS15's accessories, with chunky perspex bangles and ever-adorned perspex-backed necklaces making a big comeback. Check out our Lexi Clear Perspex Jewel Necklace for a statement piece to carry you through from AW14 into the new year.

SEA BREEZE

Keeping the idea of summer holidays in mind, oceanic shades of blue against shimmering metallics created a dreamy atmosphere across a sea of catwalk models. Our personal favourites for this colour scheme were the king of tailoring Hugo Boss and red carpet favourite Pamella Roland. Boss' models strutted in mini a-line skirts, racer-front fitted midi dresses and crisp shirts in powder blue and navy, whilst Roland's appeared to float down the runway in navy numbers and reflective silver styles.

Your sure to get many a wear out of our transitional Lola Cobalt & Teal Jewel Necklace as it takes you from this season's blue trend and straight into the next.

GO BOLD OR GO HOME

After the dark tones of the autumn/winter season, it's always nice to dress up in some bold brights when the sun starts to come out again. But this year, colours and prints are getting bigger and better than ever, with '70s and '80s vibes being thrown into the mix. Jeremy Scott blew away the crowds and probably blinded the frow with his bright hippy prints, from tie dye oversized t-shirts to far out floral dresses. Although his collection seemed mostly focused on the '70s Woodstock theme, he introduced a few slogan print pieces with an '80s feel - and he's not the only one. Marc by Marc Jacobs took this statement trend by storm with a vast array of slogan tees and punchy polkadots.

The key to this trend? Colour, colour and more colour. Head on over to our Colour Crush trend page to see pieces like this Statement Bright Jewel Necklace and get your colour fix.

That's it for our NYFW run down, but keep an eye out for our AW14 trend tracker and join us over the coming weeks as we follow London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards!
