MOSCHINO// BARBIE GIRL

There's no need to wonder where Jeremy Scott for Moschino found his influence for SS15 collection.

All inspiration obviously came from the pink poster girl, with the logo in the famous swirly Barbie font, complete with barbie props in the form of roller skates, cameras and vanity cases. Every model was styled by MAC artist Lucia Pieroni with waxy plastic skin with two full sets of eye lashes and a styled bleach blonde wig. It didn't just stop on the runway. All the invitations to the show were over-sized barbie combs and each guest left with a barbie of their own, dressed in the first attire of his collection.

The collection maybe a bit too "plastic" for most of us to cope with, but there are definite barbie influences integrated into SS15 collections all over the high street.

OOTD// What Barbie are you?

Its very easy to stereo type this trend as pink, pink, pink, but that isn't the case. You can unleash your inner Barbie using any colour palette. It's about looking stylized, glamorous and feminine with added sparkle and glitz.

We've got some truly beautiful accessories this season to Barbify you up, whether its an over-sized jewel necklace or classic jewelled earrings.

Above, we've created four very different looks influenced by Moschino's collection.

1. We've gone for a blue washed skinny jean paired with a pussy bow pale pink shirt, which gives the outfit a girly feel. An over- sized clutch is a great way to incorporate a bit of glamour to a day outfit. Text on bags is going to be big again this season, so this bag in sea blue from Miss Selfridge is perfect. Wear a jewelled pair of earrings to add some glamour to your look. We've gone for the Aisha Statement Jewel Earrings from our new pastel collection. For the most effect, wear you hair in a sleek pony or a ballerina bun. Add some false nails for a polished and sophisticated finish.

2. This ensemble is the girliest out of the four outfits. Pastels are big this spring, so don't be afraid to mix them. This lilac shift dress from Topshop with the zip detailing is a statement on it's own. The zip gives the dress a well needed lift for a contemporary feel. Slip on a pair of strappy heels in a pastel hue to compliment it. We love the soft moc-croc Topshop heels in pink to Barbie up the look. This structured messenger bag ties all the pastel shades together. Tuck the strap in for an alternative look in the evening. Complete the outfit with the Lilia Pastel Pink Wrap Bracelet. The jewels and studs give extra detail and ties in with the zip detailing. It stops the outfit looking too pretty.

3. The Sienna Statement Pastel Necklace is the base of our outfit. It's over-sized and will become the focal point of any outfit. Pull out a pastel shade form the necklace to work with. Went for baby blue and matched it to this A line beauty and paired with a crisp white peplum top. It's sophisticated and will accentuate any figure for a feminine silhouette. To dress down the outfit for day-wear, go for a chunky heel or mule in white. This keeps the look fresh and clean. Add a pair of your favourite falsies and your look is complete. To smarten this up for work wear, add a blazer and stiletto.

4. The last outfit is for all those women who prefer dark shades. Even Barbie wears black. Skinny jeans is a good canvas to begin with. To add some Barbie spirit to the outfit, go for sparkle, embellishment or metallic fabrics. A crisp white shirt is quite harsh for this look so we've gone for a twist with  a soft pleated ruffle in a shimmery silver fabric. To add extra sparkle, go for an edgy shoe. These metallic pumps work great and dress the outfit down. complete the look with  a pair of statement earrings. The Freida Pearl Jewel Earrings are elegant and bring a hint of sophistication. Finish with a coat of silver polish and add a clear lip gloss and you're ready to go.

Which is your favourite outfit?
