OOTD// Bohemian Beauty

One of the leading trends that has made a comeback for SS15 is the 70's trend, with an array of floral prints, flamboyant shirts and suede skirts. But an alternative is the bohemian trend, epitomizing the hippy period of the 70s with long flowing maxis, an abundance of fringing and heavy accessorizing.

Designers such as Fabrretti, Etro and even Ralph Lauren have been greatly influenced by bohemian, displaying a contemporary flare on the 70s.

Bohemian works best if you keep the colour palette in earthy tones. Beige's, tans, burnt oranges and browns work the best as they blend.

When we think of the Boho trend, we automatically think billowing maxis, but at this time of year, it's not quite warm enough to start parading round in a floaty almost night dress. Instead, we've gone for a weathered ripped jean in a washed out blue, paired with a textured cream bardot top, finished with ruffled sleeves and hem. This trend is all about mixing different textures but keeping colours similar. The air still has a chill to it, even if the sun is shining, so we've gone for a cream loose knit cardigan from Hollister (£14) with a drop hem, creating a billowy effect. Swap this for a kimono as the season progresses. The high street is full of bohemian style sandals, but if you're not quite ready to get out your toes yet, stick to a suede ankle boot, complete with buckles and fringing to add extra detail to your look. To match the boots, we've gone for a soft fringed bucket bag from Zara. With this trend, add as much accessories to your outfit as you want, layering pieces up for texture. Our Amara Layered Bead Bracelet is perfect for this. It's actually one bracelet but gives the impression of several. The colours on the bracelet complement the look perfectly. We've gone for The Macy Gold Pendant Tassel Necklace  to tie in with the fringing.

Add these pieces above as well to the outfit to really nail the look. Usually less is more, but to be a bohemian beauty, more is definitely more!!!

Finish the look with a natural wave in your hair using a tousled texture mist and adding random braids to your hair. Complete with a beaded head piece to really bring out the quirky queen in you.
