The sun has finally made an appearance, the flowers are in bloom and that can only mean one thing... the beginning of the Wedding season! It kicked off last weekend with our own Andy Murray and Kim Sears tying the knot.
The wedding was fit for royalty with Andy going for traditional navy, green and yellow checkered kilt and Kim Sears opting for a beautifully detailed vintagesque Jenny Packham dress paired with a billowing veil and embellished Gatsby head dress!
There are many celebrity weddings to follow this year with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher and Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux amongst the mix. But although we love obsessing about the celeb world, we start to look a little bit closer to home with friends and family of our own getting hitched and moreover what the heck you're going to wear!
Here's a few Wedding guest outfits to help you out!
The skirt and shirt combo
We've gone for a chiffon shirt with billowing sleeves for a girly, yet smart look. When paired with a pale pink texture prom skirt, the look becomes very dainty and pretty looking. To avoid it looking too workified, you can bling the accessories up. These chunky strappy heels from Kurt Geiger are perfect for a wedding. They're not too high meaning you can spend the full day socialisngf and taking pictures and the evening dancing away. The diamantes on the strap give a bit of glamour to the heels. Go for a clutch that can be a messenger bag. We went for a cream boxed clutch with a floral embellishment motif. The The Aisha Statment Jewel Necklace and Earrings compliment each other perfectly and add some depth of colour to the outfit. Wear your hair pulled off your face to see the full effect of the jewellery.
The dress
Most of us opt for a dress for a wedding, as it's easy and looks classy. This little mint dress from Coast is no exception. It's a fitted bandeau dress with a sweetheart bust. The body-con fabric is thick and will accentuate any figure and reveal a womanly silhouette. With the accessories, we have opted for mint and clear crystal for a real icy feel. New Look have some fantastic strappy heels this season, such as these thin strapped stilettos in a shimmery silver tone. The bag works perfectly with the dress and heels, as it pulls both colours together. It's heavily embellished with beads, sequins, crystal, pearls and diamantes with a hint of mint and pink. Because the dress is strapless, you can afford to go for a statement necklace. The Elsa Mint Pastel Jewel Collar will be the first thing anyone will notice. It's delicate. yet bold. If you're more of an earring kind of girl, wear your hair up in a chic chignon and wear The Nina Pastel Jewel Earrings with pride. Finish with a swift swish of nude lip gloss.
The pant and jacket combo
Not everyone likes their legs on show or prefer to go for something a bit more formal. Option three is a twist on a suit. We've gone for these beautiful silk patterned culottes from River Island. They're wide legged and flatter any shape. They also sit on the waist which will make your legs appear longer. Pair it with a shirt or chiffon strappy. We went for a three quarter flared sleeve wrap shirt. The wrap nips in at the waist, giving you an hourglass figure. Wear a simple pair of black point stilettos and a simple clutch. This monochrome clutch from River Island works well with the outfit, as it has a similar geometric fresh print as the culottes. Any of the Adorning Ava Monochrome Collection pieces will glam up this outfit, but we went for The Danica Silver Jewel Cuff and the Ariella Black Teardrop Necklace. The Danica cuff can is chunky and gives the outfit a bit of life and sparkle. The necklace is clearly a statement piece on its own, yet still subtly works well with kimono style shirt and graphic culottes.
So enjoy deciding which outfit depicts you. If you're going to more than one wedding, why not try different combos out.
