OOTD // PASTEL PREVIEW

Pastels are a common recurrence every season, with candy shades appearing across stores each spring/summer, and muted dusky tones for autumn/winter. SS15 is no different, with designers such as Timo Weiland, Valentino and Badgley Mischka all hopping on the pastel colour trend. Our next lot of exclusive designs will be landing on our website in early March, but if you can't wait that long we've got a sneak peek for you today!

Peach has to be one of our favourite summer colours. It works wonders for your complexion, no matter what your skin tone, giving you a dewy glow. Our Jania Floral Jewel Necklace packs a peachy punch with hints of lemon yellow and mint green to create a contrast. We love how the chunky gold chain offsets against the pretty jewels to give your neckline some edge.

We found this super feminine peach sheer textured midi skirt from River Island as a perfect colour match, to take you from garden party to evening cocktails by the beach! Bardot style tops aren't expected to fall off the fashion radar any time soon, so be sure to snatch up this pale yellow ribbed crop from New Look. Keep your shoes simple, like these white heeled sandals with gold buckle detail from River Island. They won't overpower the rest of your ensemble, but the gold detail will tie them in effortlessly.

To make your skin glow even more, complement your tan with a light gold eyeliner to accent the inner corners of your eyes - it'll also make them appear bigger and brighter! Highlight your cheekbones with a multi-tonal bronzer that has a slight shimmer to it, and brush on a classic light nude nail polish to complete the look.

Keep your eyes peeled on our website for new styles - we've got plenty more landing with us over the next few weeks!

LFW // AW15 ACCESSORIES

After NYFW came to an end, we told you some of the overall trends to look out for in AW15 - from Ice Princess to Nomadic. In this post, we look at the key accessory trends to keep an eye on so that you can start prepping for the season early!

FUR

Fur makes a comeback every autumn/winter season, and this year is no exception. Some of the hottest designers, such as Roksanda Ilincic, coated lashings of fur in bright and dusky colours onto anything from scarves to bags. If you caught our NYFW post last week, you'll already know that there are both Russian and royal trend influences expected in the coming season, so fur accessories are a must for any avid fashion follower.

FUTURISTIC

This year will see the release of both Star Wars VII and Avatar 2 - and it's clear designers have been taking inspiration from the sci-fi genre. The futuristic trend was favoured by many brands at LFW, with modern shapes, clean colours and light reflecting materials being seen frequently. This trend works best in milkyway colours and brilliant whites, but add splashes of metallics for a space age aesthetic.

CHOKERS

The choker has been deemed the emerging item to watch for AW15. It has been growing in popularity since this time last year, and is showing no sign of stopping any time soon. For autumn/winter, try quirky shapes and unusual materials to make a serious statement and show that you're ahead of the fashion game.

RUFFLES

Victoriana and royalty are set to be huge trends later this year, with heavily adorned fabrics being accented with fur and ruffles. Ruffled necklines are a sure fire way to impress your fashion forward friends, but if that sounds a little to OTT for you, then simply adding ruffles through your accessories will add texture and movement to your look in no time.

Our coverage of the Milan Fashion Week will be up in the next few days, so be sure to check back for more trend information ahead of everyone else!

NYFW // INTRODUCING AW15

The models have left the Big Apple after strutting their stuff down the runways for some of the world's hottest designers. As New York Fashion Week comes to an end, it's time to analyse the shows and check out what we can expect to see in AW15. We're here to give you the run down from this year's showstopping catwalks!

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

If you grew up in the '90s watching all the classic animated movies, you're sure to have had an Anastasia obsession at some point. For AW15, the Russian doll theme is very much upon us, with rich jewel tones and glistening gold embellishments contrasting against black and white backdrops. This was one of the most commonly seen trends at NYFW, with the majority of the designers taking some inspiration. If there's one fashion bandwagon you should be jumping on this autumn/winter, it's definitely this one!

NOMADIC

Winter is all about wrapping up, and with all the snow we've had this season you can guarantee we'll be seeing more of it next year! Designer legends like Anna Sui donned their models in suede eskimo style boots and fur trimmed outerwear for a nomadic feel. Think neutral tones with splashes of wine red and steel blue for a modern twist on a classic winter theme.

ROYALTY

We've already seen hints of jewel tones through the 'From Russia With Love' and 'Nomadic' trends, but some designers went one step further and dressed their models in head-to-toe bold colour. Fur outerwear and gold have also been worked into this regal trend - think Queen Victoria or the House of Tudor. There's nothing too over the top for this look; adorn yourself as much as you can and don't hold back!

ICE PRINCESS

This winter, expect to see lashings of embellishment over snowy shades of sheer chiffon and mesh. Many of the designers at NYFW modelled their entire collection on this theme, with intricate beading and flowing trains being a heavy focus. Marchesa's collection in particular had a strong ethereal style, with this powdery grey-blue tiered chiffon dress being an absolute showstopper. The Frozen hype is very much still with us, so don't be afraid to rock this ice princess look!

Stay tuned for our next AW15 run down next week with all the best from London Fashion Week!

HOW TO STYLE // THE NAVY TREND

Navy seems to be everywhere this season, with Cheap Monday and Temperley London both featuring the blue hue throughout their AW14 catwalk collections, but navy can seem a little daunting to style. Previously, mixing black and navy has been deemed as one of the ultimate fashion no-no's, like wearing pink and red together, making it difficult to know what colours to wear navy with. However this year, the tables have turned and every other designer was seen showing how to style the colours together effortlessly. We're here to show you how you can do the same!

If you're not quite ready for wearing all black and navy, breaking up the colours with other monochromatic shades is a good way to ease yourself into the trend. Adding hints of navy through your make up and accessories will be sure to keep you on trend and add muted pop of colour into any outfit, day or night. We've styled our Lena Navy Floral Jewel Collar - a steal at just £14 - with nail polish to match. Try matte polish for the day, or metallic for the night!

Every girl should own a crisp white shirt, whether you wear them for work or play. We love the embellished collar on this shirt to help add even more sparkle to your neckline. If you want to recreate the same look, why not try taking an old piece of jewellery and applying it to the collar of one of your old shirts?

Black leggings are another must have item for any wardrobe, particularly in the autumn/winter season. Purchase thick pairs (think jeggings style) that will not only keep you warm across the winter months, but also flatter any figure. If you'd prefer something a little different, look out for pairs with quilted, snakeskin or mesh inserts like the ones we've chosen.

Fur gilets are perfect for autumn/winter - both a statement garment and sure to keep you cosy! Pick one up in grey for a versatile piece of outerwear. We also adore these grey Vans slip ons; they're so easy to wear - not as casual as lace ups and simple to dress up. Add a classic black leather bag and your favourite silver watch to complete the look. We know we'll be rocking the navy trend with pride this season!

OOTD // GOTHIC GLAM

Today we updated our homepage with our second AW14 campaign image for our Gothic Glam trend - a mixture of chunky chains, deep blues and sparkling jewels. With October almost here and Halloween nearly upon us, what better trend is there to wear?

This season, the gothic trend isn't all about black. Mix it up by adding dark sapphire, rich ruby and striking emerald. Our Alexa Navy Jewel Rope Necklace will glam up any outfit and take you straight from a day in the office to a night out with the girls.

To give your outfit that super statement look, why not add an ear cuff? Our Clear Crystal Ear Cuff was worn by MIC's Rosie Fortescue and is an absolute steal at just £8! Try wearing your hair to one side if you really want to show it off.

Chunky chains were seen at the AW14 catwalk shows earlier this year, with luxury designers including Chanel working chained accessories into their looks. Our silver Miley Chunky Chain Cuff is easy to wear with almost anything.

You could even make like Kim Kardashian and wear a cuff on each arm - as seen at the Balmain SS15 show.

You can see our Gothic Glam collection here - keep an eye out for new pieces to be added soon, including some gorgeous black jewel earrings and a statement necklace or two!

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK // THE RUN DOWN

Once again the designers at NYFW have wowed us all, with out-of-this-world shows and designs to die for. From Ralph Lauren's soft safari look, to Jeremy Scott's bold hippy prints, there's a trend for everyone next season. Here at Adorning Ava we're giving you the run down of SS15's top trends to watch out for and the designers you should be keeping an eye on.

WONDERFUL WHITES

NYFW saw an array of designers carrying the white trend through from AW14 into SS15, with each of them taking a different approach. Erin Fetherston printed vintage themed florals over brilliant whites to create a clean, feminine style - perfect for any garden party. Michael Kors showed us a slightly different interpretation, using floral cut outs over matching white mesh, and adding daisy-esque appliques over floaty midi skirts.

White isn't just a big trend in clothing though, with oversized blooming rings and creamy pearls expected to make an appearance in next season's jewellery. For the perfect pearly piece with a floral hint, our Ayla White Pearl & Jewel Encrusted Necklace definitely deserves a peek at.

SAFARI CHIC

Models took to the catwalk in shades of mustard and khaki, paired with splashes of magenta, cobalt and violet. Ralph Lauren took a  more direct approach to this trend, showing lightweight jackets and trousers covered in utility pockets, alongside sultry silk shirts in hot pink, powerful purple and summer yellow; whereas Osklen models owned the runway with a more modern twist on safari chique. His designs focused more heavily on shades of khaki, sand and white, with clean lines and PVC inserts providing a unique take on the trend. Colour could be seen on his palm and jungle print coordinates and high-waisted skirts and tailored trousers.

Transparency can also be found in SS15's accessories, with chunky perspex bangles and ever-adorned perspex-backed necklaces making a big comeback. Check out our Lexi Clear Perspex Jewel Necklace for a statement piece to carry you through from AW14 into the new year.

SEA BREEZE

Keeping the idea of summer holidays in mind, oceanic shades of blue against shimmering metallics created a dreamy atmosphere across a sea of catwalk models. Our personal favourites for this colour scheme were the king of tailoring Hugo Boss and red carpet favourite Pamella Roland. Boss' models strutted in mini a-line skirts, racer-front fitted midi dresses and crisp shirts in powder blue and navy, whilst Roland's appeared to float down the runway in navy numbers and reflective silver styles.

Your sure to get many a wear out of our transitional Lola Cobalt & Teal Jewel Necklace as it takes you from this season's blue trend and straight into the next.

GO BOLD OR GO HOME

After the dark tones of the autumn/winter season, it's always nice to dress up in some bold brights when the sun starts to come out again. But this year, colours and prints are getting bigger and better than ever, with '70s and '80s vibes being thrown into the mix. Jeremy Scott blew away the crowds and probably blinded the frow with his bright hippy prints, from tie dye oversized t-shirts to far out floral dresses. Although his collection seemed mostly focused on the '70s Woodstock theme, he introduced a few slogan print pieces with an '80s feel - and he's not the only one. Marc by Marc Jacobs took this statement trend by storm with a vast array of slogan tees and punchy polkadots.

The key to this trend? Colour, colour and more colour. Head on over to our Colour Crush trend page to see pieces like this Statement Bright Jewel Necklace and get your colour fix.

That's it for our NYFW run down, but keep an eye out for our AW14 trend tracker and join us over the coming weeks as we follow London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards!
