OOTD// Wedding Wonders

The sun has finally made an appearance, the flowers are in bloom and that can only mean one thing... the beginning of the Wedding season! It kicked off last weekend with our own Andy Murray and Kim Sears tying the knot.

The wedding was fit for royalty with Andy going for traditional navy, green and yellow checkered kilt and Kim Sears opting for a beautifully detailed vintagesque Jenny Packham dress paired with a billowing veil and embellished Gatsby head dress!

There are many celebrity weddings to follow this year with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher and Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux amongst the mix. But although we love obsessing about the celeb world, we start to look a little bit closer to home with friends and family of our own getting hitched and moreover what the heck you're going to wear!

Here's a few Wedding guest outfits to help you out!

The skirt and shirt combo
We've gone for a chiffon shirt with billowing sleeves for a girly, yet smart look. When paired with a pale pink texture prom skirt, the look becomes very dainty and pretty looking. To avoid it looking too workified, you can bling the accessories up. These chunky strappy heels from Kurt Geiger are perfect for a wedding. They're not too high meaning you can spend the full day socialisngf and taking pictures and the evening dancing away. The diamantes on the strap give a bit of glamour to the heels. Go for a clutch that can be a messenger bag. We went for a cream boxed clutch with a floral embellishment motif. The The Aisha Statment Jewel Necklace and Earrings compliment each other perfectly and add some depth of colour to the outfit. Wear your hair pulled off your face to see the full effect of the jewellery.

The dress
Most of us opt for a dress for a wedding, as it's easy and looks classy. This little mint dress from Coast is no exception. It's a fitted bandeau dress with a sweetheart bust. The body-con fabric is thick and will accentuate any figure and reveal a womanly silhouette. With the accessories, we have opted for mint and clear crystal for a real icy feel. New Look have some fantastic strappy heels this season, such as these thin strapped stilettos in a shimmery silver tone. The bag works perfectly with the dress and heels, as it pulls both colours together. It's heavily embellished with beads, sequins, crystal, pearls and diamantes with a hint of mint and pink. Because the dress is strapless, you can afford to go for a statement necklace. The Elsa Mint Pastel Jewel Collar will be the first thing anyone will notice. It's delicate. yet bold. If you're more of an earring kind of girl, wear your hair up in a chic chignon and wear The Nina Pastel Jewel Earrings with pride. Finish with a swift swish of nude lip gloss.

The pant and jacket combo
Not everyone likes their legs on show or prefer to go for something a bit more formal. Option three is a twist on a suit. We've gone for these beautiful silk patterned culottes from River Island. They're wide legged and flatter any shape. They also sit on the waist which will make your legs appear longer. Pair it with a shirt or chiffon strappy. We went for a three quarter flared sleeve wrap shirt. The wrap nips in at the waist, giving you an hourglass figure. Wear a simple pair of black point stilettos and a simple clutch. This monochrome clutch from River Island works well with the outfit, as it has a similar geometric fresh print as the culottes. Any of the Adorning Ava Monochrome Collection pieces will glam up this outfit, but we went for The Danica Silver Jewel Cuff and the Ariella Black Teardrop Necklace. The Danica cuff can is chunky and gives the outfit a bit of life and sparkle. The necklace is clearly a statement piece on its own, yet still subtly works well with kimono style shirt and graphic culottes.

So enjoy deciding which outfit depicts you. If you're going to more than one wedding, why not try different combos out.

OOTD // NYE SHOWSTOPPER

As 2014 comes to and end (we can't believe how quickly it flew by either!), it's time to celebrate one of if not the biggest party nights of the year. If Christmas didn't seem like a big enough excuse for you to adorn yourself, New Year's Eve is definitely an excuse! Because if you can't go all out on NYE, when can you? Mind your eyes - this Outfit Of The Day so sparkly it's bound to blind you!

Sequin dresses are a NYE classic. We love this Boohoo number with iridescent pink sequins and 3/4 length sleeves - a change from the usual black sequin dresses you see most years. Our Sophia Pastel Pink Beaded Earrings are a perfect match for this dress, with matte nude beads and sparkling clear crystals. They'll add a touch more sparkle to your outfit without overdoing it.

Don't be afraid to keep the shine going throughout your whole outfit for NYE, but rather than adorning yourself in full on glitz from head to toe, opt for muted metallics. These ankle strapped silver heels from ASOS and Warehouse clutch will add a little more shine without making you look a little too Vegas showgirl. If just a pair of earrings isn't enough accessorising for you, our Miley Chunky Chain Cuff is sure to toughen up your look. Add some matte pink lippy and metallic silver nail polish to pull the whole look together!

Happy New Year everyone!

OOTD // ALL WRAPPED UP

So it's only five days until we'll all be huddled around our Christmas tree opening presents and tucking into the best roast dinner of the year! We've given eachother some great gifts in our office Secret Santa and our desks are covered in Christmas cards - we're definitely in the festive spirit!

Christmas is a time for mixing two styles - cosy and glam. It's lovely being all wrapped up in a thick jumper, but what girl can deny her outfit a little sparkle!? This weekend's Outfit Of The Day is all about fashion for the big day  - we can't wait to try out this look!

You may have seen our Crystal Snowflake Earrings in our last blog post, but they're just as amazing in the day as they are for a night on the town, plus their classic shape means you'll be wearing them every Christmas for years to come!

Navy is a key colour this season. We love these slightly shiny leggings from Topshop and classic navy Vans slip-ons to match. If you don't want to wear too much dark colour, mix your leggings with a colour popping fur gilet, like the light blue River Island number we've discovered. Complete your festive look with everybody's favourite garment this time of year - a Christmas jumper! We love this white printed sweatshirt from Matalan - a modern, stylish twist on the cheesy jumpers you normally come across (although we do still love a good light up snowman jumper!).

As for beauty, navy and pink go great together (check out our Alexa Navy Jewel Rope Necklace if you don't believe us!), so smack on your trusty pale pink lipstick and opt for precious pearlescent nails for a subtle add of shimmer.

If like your accessories just a little more out there, then you'll absolutely adore our Pearl Back Snowflake Jewel Earrings! With iridescent jewels coating the snowflake shapes at the front, and oversized pearls for backs, these earrings are just a little bit special. And after winter is over, wear them backwards and they'll double up as statement pearl studs!

Don't forget there's still time to enter our BIG giveaway on our social media pages, where you could end up winning several of the pieces mentioned on our blog over the last few months! Just click on the icons on the right to head on over and enter!!

OOTD // CHRISTMAS SPARKLES

It's official - there's only ten more sleeps until it's CHRISTMAS! We're all getting in the festive spirit here in the office, especially since we've had a couple of Christmassy pieces delivered. Today's post shows you how to sparkle in style this party season and add a dash of festivity to your outfit without looking too cheesy!

Channel your inner 1920s girl with this amazing gunmetal sequin dress with Ostrich feather detailing from Topshop - the perfect combination of sassy and classy! We've matched it up with a statement snakeskin New Look clutch and fierce Topshop strappy heels to take your outfit to the next level.

You can't go far wrong with red at Christmas, but bright red lippy can be tricky to pull off. No matter what your complexion or hair colour, try a dark burgundy shade for a sure fire beauty winner. For nails, we recommend either matching them to your lippy with a deep red, or a metallic black for some added shimmer.

Christmas is the best time of the year if you love accessorising like we do. There's no such thing as over-accessorising at Christmas, so stack your bracelets high and adorn your ears with some winter jewels! Our Ayla White Jewel Encrusted Bracelet is to die for, with brilliant clear crystals and a milky white centre stone. But our office favourite right now has to be our Crystal Snowflake Earrings! They're festive yet still stylish, and as the gems are just clear, they can be worked into any outfit. At just £5 a pair, you could even order some for your office Secret Santa gift!

In the run up to Christmas day, from now until December 24th we'll be running a series of last minute offers just for you! There will be a new one each day, with each offer expiring the same day it's released, so keep your eyes peeled on our social media pages!

Our first offer has already been revealed - 25% off today between 7-9pm only with discount code 1025!!

Happy shopping everyone!

HOW TO WEAR // STATEMENT EARRINGS

We've been wearing earrings for hundreds of years - even Tutankhamun had his ears pierced! But that doesn't make it any easier to work out how to wear different shapes and styles. From studs to chandeliers, identifying your face shape can help you know which earrings you can wear best, just like it affects the type of hairstyles you'll be best suited to. If you're still confused don't worry; Adorning Ava HQ are here to help!

OVAL

If you have an oval face, then you're in earring heaven! Oval faces are versatile to practically all styles, although soft shapes tend to work better than geometric. When wearing longer pieces, try to pick a pair with a little width to them to complement your face shape. Our Aurea Oversize Pastel Jewel Earrings are perfect, mixing both length and width with both soft and geometric shapes combined.

ROUND

For those of you with round faces, short earrings such as chunky studs can sometimes work against you. Long, dangle earrings however will help to elongate the face and enhance your cheekbones. Who'd have thought earrings could give you a face lift!? Unlike oval faces however, you should stick to styles which have more length than width. Why not try our Multi Jewel Chandelier Earrings to glam up your outfit on your next night out?

HEART

Celebrities with heart-shaped faces include Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars and Taylor Swift, so if you've got one too you can count yourself to be in good company! With structured jawlines and pointed chins, earrings which are wider at the bottom than at the top will help to balance out your face shape and draw attention to your eyes. Slender at the top and chunky at the bottom, our Ava Vintage Jewel Earrings are a perfect match for your face, and they're gorgeous!

SQUARE

If you have a strong jawline and structured cheekbones, you share the same face shape as Angelina Jolie. Square faces can be softened with hoop earrings and round shapes, with a medium to long length. We adore these Zaria Pearl Hoop Earrings - the perfect length with plenty of embellishment!

NARROW

Narrow or oblong faces are best suited to a lot of volume when it comes to hairstyles, and the same goes for earrings. Wearing heavily embellished short dangle earrings will draw attention to the eyes and make your face look less narrow. Our Nina Pastel Jewel Earrings are the perfect pastel shade for this season and will balance out your facial features well.

DIAMOND

Ashley Greene and Vanessa Hudgens both have diamond-shaped faces - cheekbones are the widest part of the face, with a pointed chin and a forehead that tapers at the hairline. If this sounds like a match for you, earrings with more width than length will complement your shape. Short but chunky studs, like our Bright Jewel Cluster Earrings, will look stunning on you and help to enhance your cheekbones.

OOTD // GOTHIC GLAM

Today we updated our homepage with our second AW14 campaign image for our Gothic Glam trend - a mixture of chunky chains, deep blues and sparkling jewels. With October almost here and Halloween nearly upon us, what better trend is there to wear?

This season, the gothic trend isn't all about black. Mix it up by adding dark sapphire, rich ruby and striking emerald. Our Alexa Navy Jewel Rope Necklace will glam up any outfit and take you straight from a day in the office to a night out with the girls.

To give your outfit that super statement look, why not add an ear cuff? Our Clear Crystal Ear Cuff was worn by MIC's Rosie Fortescue and is an absolute steal at just £8! Try wearing your hair to one side if you really want to show it off.

Chunky chains were seen at the AW14 catwalk shows earlier this year, with luxury designers including Chanel working chained accessories into their looks. Our silver Miley Chunky Chain Cuff is easy to wear with almost anything.

You could even make like Kim Kardashian and wear a cuff on each arm - as seen at the Balmain SS15 show.

You can see our Gothic Glam collection here - keep an eye out for new pieces to be added soon, including some gorgeous black jewel earrings and a statement necklace or two!

OOTD // GRUNGE GET UP

We may not want to admit it, but autumn is here and this English sunshine won't last forever! As we roll into October the weather may begin to get a little dreary, but on the plus side you can pull your favourite black leather jacket out from the back of your wardrobe again. The grunge trend is back this year with chunky chains, statement rings and studded cuffs.

If you prefer to have a little colour in your look, our Miley Layered Chain Necklace is perfect, with three shades of metal - gold, gunmetal and silver.

For a true designer look, our classic YSL inspired Carmen Black Jewel Ring will carry you straight through AW14 and even into SS15. Monochrome is set to be a big trend next season, and the rich gold metal will help to glam up a simple white summer dress.
For SS14 we brought you our Mint Green Studded PVC Cuff  (which will carry through the pastel trend this season by the way!), and now we've got a beautiful black version for you with our Bianca Black Stud PVC Cuff.

For the perfect Gothic glam earrings, keep your eyes peeled for our new Black Jewel Earrings coming soon..

FEATURED IN // LOOK MAGAZINE

Who spotted us in Look magazine last week?! We were very excited to be featured in the 'I'm Loving...' segment, as chosen by editor Ali Hall, as this issue's 'Get It Or Regret It' item!

This necklace is a perfect transitional piece to carry you through from summer to autumn, featuring both vibrant pink and subtle navy. We recommend wearing this with a neutral coloured top in the day, or a stand out pink dress to match for the night. You could even take inspiration from the pink, amber, navy and purple embellishments and work them into your make up look, with a smoky blue eye or a matte pink lip!

At just £15, our Eva Vintage Jewel Necklace has been flying out and is now only available to pre-order through our website, so be sure to get your orders in asap!

SKINTED VS MINTED // CRYSTAL EAR CUFF

We all love to ooh and aah at luxury fashion when we see reports from the biannual catwalk shows. We coveted this Ryan Storer ear cuff when we spotted it on Net-A-Porter, and luckily for you we're selling a near match for a fraction of the price, so you can get the look for less!

Even MIC's Rosie Fortescue knows a good bargain when she sees one!

You can see her blog post on the ear cuff here.
