OOTD// BANK HOLIDAY BESTS

It's official, the bank holiday has arrived! It's the first one of the year and we couldn't be more ready for it. It's a time to hang out with your friends and family, whether it be rocking out 'til 3 am or catching up on Netflix surrounded by Easter egg wrappers.

We've put together the perfect Easter outfit, if you're heading out this mini break. It's a four night weekend, so there's no excuse!

90's disco is a huge trend this season! The mini dress has made a comeback paired with super chunky mules. The high street is full of tin foil like garments, chunky flatforms and tiny skirts/ dresses.

We've gone for a fitted shimmery white mini dress and paired it with a boxy leather jacket for a sexy grunge feel. Wear it with any type of heel, as long as it's chunky and has a blocky look to it. On this occasion, we've picked a simple leather mule.

The bag is a silver sparkle clutch with buckle detailing and a messenger strap included if you're sick of holding your bag while trying to drink and dance.

Tha Adorning Ava Monochrome range works great for the 90s disco trend. The Abby Statement Monochrome Necklace sits beautifully with the shimmery mini and The Danica Silver Jewel Cuff adds a bit of character to the outfit.

Finish with a smudgey eye for a 90s grunge feel. You can afford to use a colour, as the outfit is very plain in colour. We've gone for a purple haze, as this seems to be the big 'it' shade this season with Derek Lam, Vera Wang and Mathew Williamson all a fan.

There you have, the perfect outfit for any evening! If it's a tad chilly, add a pair of tights and go for a chunky boot, still in keeping with the trend, but much more sensible if it's torrential rain.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

OOTD// Bohemian Beauty

One of the leading trends that has made a comeback for SS15 is the 70's trend, with an array of floral prints, flamboyant shirts and suede skirts. But an alternative is the bohemian trend, epitomizing the hippy period of the 70s with long flowing maxis, an abundance of fringing and heavy accessorizing.

Designers such as Fabrretti, Etro and even Ralph Lauren have been greatly influenced by bohemian, displaying a contemporary flare on the 70s.

Bohemian works best if you keep the colour palette in earthy tones. Beige's, tans, burnt oranges and browns work the best as they blend.

When we think of the Boho trend, we automatically think billowing maxis, but at this time of year, it's not quite warm enough to start parading round in a floaty almost night dress. Instead, we've gone for a weathered ripped jean in a washed out blue, paired with a textured cream bardot top, finished with ruffled sleeves and hem. This trend is all about mixing different textures but keeping colours similar. The air still has a chill to it, even if the sun is shining, so we've gone for a cream loose knit cardigan from Hollister (£14) with a drop hem, creating a billowy effect. Swap this for a kimono as the season progresses. The high street is full of bohemian style sandals, but if you're not quite ready to get out your toes yet, stick to a suede ankle boot, complete with buckles and fringing to add extra detail to your look. To match the boots, we've gone for a soft fringed bucket bag from Zara. With this trend, add as much accessories to your outfit as you want, layering pieces up for texture. Our Amara Layered Bead Bracelet is perfect for this. It's actually one bracelet but gives the impression of several. The colours on the bracelet complement the look perfectly. We've gone for The Macy Gold Pendant Tassel Necklace  to tie in with the fringing.

Add these pieces above as well to the outfit to really nail the look. Usually less is more, but to be a bohemian beauty, more is definitely more!!!

Finish the look with a natural wave in your hair using a tousled texture mist and adding random braids to your hair. Complete with a beaded head piece to really bring out the quirky queen in you.

OOTD // FOR THE LOVE OF LEATHER

Whether you prefer real or faux, no wardrobe is complete without a bit a leather. Celebrities such as the Kardashians are often pictured wearing multiple leather pieces. We're here to show you how you can work the look too!

First things first, every girl should own a leather jacket. They can take almost any outfit from drab to fab, and you can accessorize with a fur collar in the colder months. Black leather boots are a must too, as they're versatile and help add height with a chunky heel that's easy to wear all day long!

A black leather tee will give any outfit a slick style. Look out for one which is slightly loose with mesh inserts so you don't get too hot! Wear with either leather leggings or a leather skirt, but don't be afraid to add some colour. A pastel leather skirt - like this powder blue beauty - will instantly make you stand out from the crowd. We love the zip detail on this one, plus it's high waisted to give you some curves.

As the head-to-toe leather look can be a little intense, keep accessories to a minimum. Our Talia Pearl Front & Back Earrings and Sadie Black Leather Jewel Bracelet are to die for, but delicate enough not to outshine the rest of your ensemble. Add a classic nude lip and dreamy powder blue nail polish as a finishing touch.

OOTD // HINT OF HALLOWEEN

As kids, Halloween was all about trick or treating and costumes were reasonably simple. As adults, it's a whole different ball game! The fashion stakes are high this year, with many designer labels - including Balmain - featuring black and leather heavily in their AW14 catwalk shows. This is perfect for those of you who aren't into dressing up nowadays, but still want to get in the spirit of the holiday.

Our Lola Black Jewel Necklace is feminine yet fierce, with floral inspiration with a bold monochrome twist. It's easy to wear, and chunky enough to make a statement. We've paired it with a slick leather skirt, black heels and a peplum top. A colour blocking top like the one we've chosen is perfect to break up the black and bring a subtle hint of colour. Plus, pastel pink is back again this season, so you'll be killing two trends with one outfit! We suggest adding a high shine black nail polish and dark smokey eye to complement your look. Remember - if you're wearing dramatic eye make up, it's often best to wear with a nude lip.

However you're celebrating this year, have a Happy Halloween from everyone at Adorning Ava HQ!

OOTD // AUTUMNAL ACCESORIES

This season, it's all about making a statement, from necklaces adorned in iridescent gems and jewels to oversize chunky chains. It is very easy to style these beautiful accessories as evening wear, but how do you wear them during your normal daytime routine without looking like your off to the nearest cocktail bar?  It's simple... keep it simple!

Featured above is the newest piece to our AW14 collection, The Estelle Black Jewel Necklace.

To incorporate this into your daytime wear, keep it simple with a basic tee. If your brave, wear it cropped with a slight rift for an edgy casual feel. Pair it with a full pleated midi, whether in a sheer fabric or thick leather. We've gone for a shimmery wine coloured midi to give the outfit a real autumnal feel. Finish your look with a messenger bag and a pair of wedged boots. Wedges are great to keep your outfit chic but still in-keeping with the daytime. A leather messenger is perfect for the daytime and easily worn. Match your lippy and polish to a shade that you're wearing, in this case a plum/wine hue. This will pull together your whole look, creating a casual daytime outfit with a feel of statement sass!
